The Catrina Mermaid

A Catrina Mermaid rises from the depths of a cenote and travels her surroundings on the way to leave offerings at the sacred trees of the Riviera Maya. An experimental production, presented at Adobe MAX.

Light underground. A cenote is a room without lamps: the only source is the shaft entering through the cave mouth and bouncing off the water. The entire lighting design consisted of placing the character inside that shaft and letting the turquoise water do the rest.
